About CAS
The Canberra Astronomical Society was founded as a non-profit association in 1969 and exists to serve the needs of amateur astronomers in and around Canberra and the ACT.
It has a long association with the Mt Stromlo Observatory (MSO) and has a research-grade telescope in one of the outreach domes on the mountain (pictured at right).
CAS members have a wealth of knowledge and experience in all things related to astronomy and space and are proud to act in conjunction with the Research School of Astronomy and Astrophysics (RSAA) at the Australian National University (ANU) to provide outreach and educational services to the wider community.
